Wandering Lewis was created by upcoming travel blog superstar Sarah Lewis in order to document her adventures around the world. With a current focus on Europe in particular, but with an eye on places further abroad in the near future, Sarah has a passion for learning languages and immersing herself into local culture to really get a feel for what it means to be a citizen of the country she is visiting.

The Brief
Sarah reached out to us after spending some time in Cornwall, as she wanted to upgrade her existing WordPress.com website which had a few travel blog entries already online. After a brief consultation on how to improve the existing website, Sarah decided to give it a complete overhaul.
The new website needed to be easy to maintain and update due to Sarah being on the move a lot, so we decided that WordPress was still the way to go. After the website had been built, documentation would be supplied so she could refer to it in case of difficulty.
The Process
The project was targeted for a quick turnaround, built on an already established framework within WordPress, so we settled on the BeTheme framework by Muffin Group (which is what SiteJacket's own website is built on).
As we already had a lot of practice with this particular theme, building the site for Sarah took a little over a week as we wrote the documentation in tandem so we didn't miss out anything that wasn't already easy to follow.
SEO was also a huge factor in the build, so we made sure we included the renowned SEO plugin Yoast SEO and demonstrated to Sarah how it works and why SEO is important.
After ensuring the website's security with our usual security plugin installation the website was ready to launch.
The Result
As mentioned before, this website was built quickly and efficiently especially with Sarah's own content being readily available. It was a breeze to construct internal templates using BeTheme's own system allowing new travel blog posts to be created with ease.
Along with the website, Sarah also collaborated with us to create the logo for the website and her own personal branding which has been used extensively throughout, including on some of the travel guides she has produced.
Working with Sarah has been a fantastic experience. Her input throughout this project has ensured its quick turnaround and allowed us to deliver a great-looking, fully responsive website. We look forward to working with her again one day soon!
