The Client
Pretty Perfect by Sophie’s is a beauty salon that took over from an existing business, Fifibelle’s. During the early stages of the project, the business also underwent a name and branding change, moving from Sophie’s Beauty Lounge to Pretty Perfect by Sophie’s.
As a brand new business operating in a competitive local market, it needed a beauty salon website that could establish credibility quickly and support discovery through Google search and Google Maps.
The Problem
There was no existing website in place, as this was a new business launch rather than a redesign. While some repeat customers carried over from the previous salon, there was no clear online presence that reflected the new brand or supported local discovery.
The business relied heavily on social media to attract attention, which helped raise awareness, but there was no central place for potential clients to view services, see reviews, or feel confident booking for the first time.
In addition, changes to the business name and branding during development created challenges around consistency, content, and messaging, all of which needed to be handled carefully before launch.
The Challenge
Launching a brand new beauty salon website with no existing foundation
Managing a mid-project rebrand and name change
Limited initial content and reliance on stock imagery
Presenting the salon as a premium, luxury service
Supporting local visibility through Google search and Maps
The Strategy
The strategy was to treat the website as both a discovery and trust-building tool, rather than just a brochure. For a new beauty salon, first impressions matter, but so does clarity and ease of use.
The site was designed mobile-first, recognising that most users would discover the salon through Google search or Google Maps on their phone. Service clarity, ease of booking, and visible social proof were prioritised over unnecessary features.
Alongside the website, the salon’s Google Business Profile was optimised to support local searches such as “beauty salon near me”, with the website acting as the natural next step for potential clients.
What We Delivered
A mobile-first beauty salon website built as the salon’s first proper online presence
Clear, structured service information to avoid confusion or misleading expectations
Prominent reviews and testimonials to demonstrate trust and quality
High-quality, real imagery following advice to move away from stock photos
Integration with the salon’s booking system and multiple contact points
Local SEO foundations to support long-term local visibility
How This Helped
The website now gives Pretty Perfect by Sophie’s a professional and credible online presence that reflects the quality of its services. Potential clients can clearly see what treatments are offered, what to expect, and why the salon is trusted by others before booking.
By linking closely with the salon’s Google Business Profile, the website supports discovery through search and Maps, while also acting as a reassurance step for clients who want to check reviews and services before making contact.
The Results
Since launch, the website has supported steady growth in visibility and engagement. Over a four-month period, the site helped improve the salon’s search presence and gave the business confidence in directing potential clients to a professional online platform.
The combination of a clear website, strong local visibility, and visible social proof has provided a solid foundation for ongoing growth.

Why This Worked
This project worked because it focused on how people actually choose a beauty salon. Rather than relying on stock imagery or flashy design, the emphasis was on clarity, trust, and real-world proof.
Experience working with service-based businesses helped anticipate common issues, including limited time for content, the need for clear guidance, and the importance of locking in design decisions early. This kept the project moving smoothly, even with branding changes during development.
By treating the website and Google Business Profile as connected tools, the salon was able to improve discoverability while maintaining a strong, premium brand presence.
